Meet the Author

Corey Smith

Corey Smith is the author of "It was good that I was afflicted," a powerful memoir of resilience and transformation.

As a former foster youth, Corey's story embodies the mission of Scribe Publishing Inc.—transforming lived experience into authorship, voice, and opportunity. His narrative is a testament to the healing power of storytelling and the strength of young people who dare to reclaim their own stories.

At the Ink and Insights event, Corey will share his journey, sign copies of his book, and connect with fellow youth and supporters who believe in the transformative power of voice and storytelling.
